  • The position of Deputy Director for Administration and Finance was created in 2022 and is responsible for the management of the museum's Administrative Office, Registrar's Office, Exhibitions and Publications, as well as for overseeing strategic partnerships. The first person appointed to the position of Deputy Director for Administration and Finance was Eric Nastasi. Natasi first joined museum staff in 2019 as senior advisor to the director, before that Nastasi was division director for advancement and partnerships at the Smithsonian Science Education Center. Prior to joining the Smithsonian in 2013, Nastasi served as a member of the advisory board for the Smithsonian Science Education Center, 2009-2012; the governing board of the Arlington Arts Center, 2011-2014; and the governing board of Artisphere, 2011-2013. Nastasi earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (1991) and a JD degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law (1994).
