This accession consists of seven subsites of the National Museum of Natural History website and one blog, all maintained by the Department of Botany.
The Index Nominum Genericorum subsite, crawled on November 21, 2019, is a compilation of published generic names for algae, fungi, and plants. Due to technical issues, the search function does not properly operate in the web crawl and the names may not be included in the crawl nor be accessible.
The International Code of Nomenclature for Algae, Fungi, and Plants: Appendices I-VII subsite, crawled on November 21, 2019, is a compilation of all proposals or requests for names. Due to technical issues, the search function does not properly operate in the web crawl and the proposals may not be included in the crawl nor be accessible.
The Onagraceae subsite, crawled on April 6, 2020, includes phylogeny and classification of the evening primrose family. Due to technical issues, some features in this web crawl do not function as expected and information may be missing.
The Flora of the Hawaiian Islands subsite, crawled on April 6, 2020, documents collaborative research conducted by the National Museum of Natural History and the National Tropical Botanical Garden. It includes information about specimens, images, and a bibliography. Due to technical issues, the search function does not properly operate in the web crawl and specimen information may not be included in the crawl nor be accessible.
The Flora of the Marquesas Islands subsite, crawled on April 6, 2020, also documents collaborative research conducted by the National Museum of Natural History and the National Tropical Botanical Garden. It includes a project overview, specimen information, a geographic overview, images, and a bibliography. The Flora of Micronesia subsite, crawled on May 7, 2020, also documents collaborative research conducted by the National Museum of Natural History and the National Tropical Botanical Garden. It includes a geographic overview and bibliography. Specimen information was missing from the live website at the time it was crawled and, therefore, is not included in the web crawl.
The Flora of the West Indies subsite, crawled on April 6, 2020, is a checklist of names, distribution, and conservation status. It also includes specimen information and images as well as a geographic and historic overview. Due to technical issues, the search function does not properly operate in the web crawl and specimen information may not be included in the crawl nor be accessible.
"The Plant Press" blog, crawled on February 24, 2020, is an additional platform for the content found in the quarterly printed newsletter of the same name. The newsletter is jointly produced by the Department of Botany and the United States National Herbarium. It provides information about staff research, visitors, new publications, and plant conservation highlights. The blog has been back-populated with content beginning with the January 1998 issue.
