This accession consists of approximately 968 tweets using the hashtag "#SmithsonianHistory." The hashtag was created by the Smithsonian Institution Archives to celebrate the 173rd anniversary of the founding of the Smithsonian Institution on August 9, 2019. It continued to be used by the Archives as well as other units across the Smithsonian to promote events, people, and milestones in the Smithsonian's history. Twitter is a microblogging platform and its posts are known as "tweets." Tweets using this hashtag were exported into a spreadsheet between August 7, 2019, and June 7, 2020. Due to technical issues, some tweets may be truncated. Materials are in electronic format.
