Hall of Health exhibit in the Arts and Industries Building, with George B. Griffenhagen, curator in the Division of Medical Sciences, standing next to the "Transparent Woman," a transparent manikin of a woman which shows by electronic devices, light, and sound, the location of the major organs of the human body and explains their functions.
Hall of Health opened November 3, 1957, in the Arts and Industries Building as part of the Exhibits Modernization Program, replacing the Public Health Gallery that had been in place since 1924. The theme of the new Hall is "Through the Ages, Man's Knowledge of His Body."
