This accession consists of census data related to a 14-year study of the effects of the mode of death on trees in a mature forest. The research, led by Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) ecologist Dennis F. Whigham, was conducted in the Western Triangle area of the SERC property in the Chesapeake Bay Region. Materials also include a project description and data field documentation.
