This accession consists of records created and maintained by Mary Augusta Thomas, documenting her participation on pan-Smithsonian Institution committees, workgroups, and task forces, as well as relations with external organizations. Thomas served as Manager (and later Assistant Director) of Planning and Administration; Assistant Director of Management and Systems; Associate Director of Reader Services and Strategic Planning (2002-2009); and Deputy Director (2009-2019). Materials include correspondence, memoranda, meeting materials, reports, proposals, charters, presentations, brochures, and related materials. Some materials are in electronic format. Prior to 2014, the Smithsonian Libraries was known as the Smithsonian Institution Libraries.
