This accession consists of the records of Michelle Anne Delaney, Consortia Director, which document her activities in developing and participating in Smithsonian Civil War 150 anniversary projects such as educational programs, tours, special events, publications, and media initiatives that explore the unique Civil War collections held at the Smithsonian Institution, as well as the social, cultural, and technological impact of the war, and the history of the Institution during the conflict. The records also document the planning, development and production of the exhibition "Experience Civil War Photography: From the Home Front to the Battlefield," in which Delaney was co-curator, and the Smithsonian's interest in acquiring a collection of Civil War-era photographs from the Meserve-Kunhardt Foundation. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes; proposals; budget summaries; meeting agendas and minutes; schedules; committee information; brochures; exhibition scripts, object lists, design concepts, and agreements; press releases; and other supporting documentation.
