This accession consists of three websites maintained by the Office of Advancement. The "Ultimate Smithsonian Challenges" website, crawled on July 18, 2018, consists of three quizzes about various aspects of the Smithsonian Institution. Due to technical issues, the quizzes are incomplete in this accession. The Friends of the Smithsonian website provides information about membership programs and lists special events for members. The James Smithson Society, the highest level membership program, is a separate website that provides information specifically about its own program. Files for both websites were transferred from the server after the websites were taken offline. In addition, this accession includes a section of the primary Smithsonian Institution website that served as a central location for giving. The section includes information related to donating to the Smithsonian, including planned, corporate, and foundation giving as well as memberships. Files for this section were transferred from the server after it was converted into a separate website. Materials are in electronic format.
