This accession consists of the records of Kimberly A. Kelly, Affiliations Program Manager, which document program activities and planning for the exhibition "Field to Factory: Afro-American Migration, 1915-1940" at the National Museum of American History (NMAH). The exhibition focused on the lasting impact of the migration of African Americans to the Northern section of the United States. Earlier records date back to when Kelly was in the Division of Community Life at NMAH, where she was collections manager of the exhibition as well as script writer, director, and coordinator of the Young Interpreters Program. The Young Interpreters Program recruited high school students for cart presentations, musical theater productions, and dramatic performances for exhibitions at NMAH, including "Field to Factory," to engage visitors and help them better understand and enjoy American history. Materials include correspondence; brochures and pamphlets; a videotape interview with NMAH Director Spencer R. Crew in regard to "Field to Factory," which he curated; financial summaries; performance scripts; a proposal; schedules; and slides.
