This accession consists of the records of William L. Bird, Curator, documenting his exhibition planning, development, and production activities in the Division of Political History. Earlier records date back to when the division was known as the Division of Politics and Reform, the Division of Social History, and when it was part of the Department of Social and Cultural History at the National Museum of American History. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes; exhibition proposals; scripts; object lists; press releases; design information; floor plans; photographs, slides, and negatives; a press kit; visitor comments; committee information; a project schedule; meeting agendas and minutes; evaluations; clippings; brochures; drawings; and supporting documentation.
