Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of the records of William L. Bird, Curator, documenting his curatorial and professional activities in the Division of Political History. Earlier records date back to when the division was known as the Division of Politics and Reform, the Division of Social History, and when it was part of the Department of Social and Cultural History at the National Museum of American History, which, prior to 1980, was known as the National Museum of History and Technology. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes; information pertaining to professional societies, conferences, symposiums, and colloquiums; Bird's lecture papers, articles, and book reviews; press releases; newspaper clippings; collection management information; awards; book reviews in regard to Bird's publications; photographs and negatives; brochures; and a drawing. Some materials are in electronic format.
