Summary

U.S. Army Private John R. Kissinger (1877-1946) was the first volunteer in the "Camp Lazear" phase of Walter Reed's 1900 yellow fever experiments. He developed yellow fever, after being bitten by several infected mosquitoes, and recovered but was permanently disabled.
