This accession consists of two websites and a blog maintained by the Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM).
The SAAM website, crawled twice on August 30, 2017, provides information about the museum and its collections, exhibitions, educational programs, and research programs. It also includes press releases and resources for teachers and students. A page about visiting the Renwick Gallery was crawled separately on September 18, 2017. This accession does not include detailed collection information.
The Renwick Gallery website, crawled twice on August 30, 2017, includes information about the Gallery and its history, staff, collections, and exhibitions. The Renwick Gallery is part of SAAM. Due to technical issues, some content in this crawl may be missing or may not function as expected.
The "Eye Level" blog, crawled on August 30, 2017, is dedicated to American art and the ways in which the nation's art reflects its history and culture. The blog was launched in September 2005.
In addition, the SAAM website was redesigned in early September 2017. At this time, the "Eye Level" blog was incorporated into the website. The redesigned version of the website was crawled on September 26, 2017, and the blog, as part of the website, was crawled separately on the same day.
