This accession consists of the Smithsonian Institution Research Information System (SIRIS) website, crawled April 21, 2017, and the Smithsonian Collections Blog, crawled April 24, 2017.
The SIRIS website is the public search portal for several Smithsonian Institution library, archives, and research catalogs. This accession primarily consists of the informational pages on the website and does not include detailed collections information.
The Smithsonian Collections Blog highlights the hidden treasures from over 2 million collections by bringing together archivists, museum specialists, and librarians from around the Smithsonian Institution to write about new collections, current works in progress, or other interesting materials in order to highlight collections, unveil hidden collections as they come online, and relate to current events with historical artifacts, art work and research materials from the past. The blog opened in March 2012.
Materials are in electronic format.
