Summary

S. Neal Vivian of Crosby, Minnesota, worked for the John A. Savage Mining Company at the Sagamore Mine in Riverton, Minnesota in 1918, when the company geologist discovered a large group of vertebrate fossils. He assisted in in collecting the fossil bison, among other items, and packed them for shipment to the Smithsonian.
