Summary

John Clavon Norman, Jr., M.D. (1930-2014), Associate in Surgery, Harvard Medical School, and Director of the Sears Surgical Research Laboratories, Harvard Unit, Boston City Hospital. The photograph caption explained that Dr. Norman was holding "two of the beagles involved in research in which normal spleens were transplanted in beagles with true canine hemophilia (Type A). In each recipient the level of the antihemophylic factor (Factor VIII) rose dramatically rendering them free of the genetic disorder."
