John Bamber Hickam, M.D. (1914-1970), Chairman, Department of Internal Medicine, Indiana University at Indianapolis. Hickam's work focused on the physiology of cardiopulmonary disease. The medical principle "Hickam's dictum" ("Patients can have as many diseases as they damn well please") is attributed to him.
