Website Records, 2011-2017
This accession consists of the Field Book Project website and blog as they existed on March 1, 2017. The Field Book Project began as a joint initiative between the National Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian Institution Archives to create a single online location for scholars and others to visit when searching for field books and other field research materials. It is currently administered by the Smithsonian Libraries, Biodiversity Heritage Library. The website includes information about the project as well as educational activities and lesson plans. The blog, established in March 2011, highlights materials found while cataloging the materials and provides context for their creation. Materials are in electronic format.
