This accession consists of records documenting the development and management of archival collections at the National Air and Space Museum. The archival collections were originally managed by the Smithsonian Institution Libraries, National Air and Space Museum Branch until the museum created its Records Management Division in 1982. The division underwent several organizational changes until it became the Archives Division in 1989. Materials include memoranda, meeting minutes, reports, statistics, proposals, and related materials. Some materials are on microfiche.
