This accession consists of field notes and diaries of Joseph H. Kirkbride, botanist. Kirkbride was an Associate Curator in the National Museum of Natural History, Department of Botany, 1976-1979, but spent the majority of his career with the Agricultural Research Service in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Following his retirement from the USDA, he returned to the Department of Botany as a Research Associate. Some of these materials directly relate to specimens maintained at the National Museum of Natural History. Materials also include scientific illustrations, hand drawn maps, and a photograph.

Descriptive Entry

This accession consists of field notes and diaries of Joseph H. Kirkbride, botanist. Kirkbride was an Associate Curator in the National Museum of Natural History, Department of Botany, 1976-1979, but spent the majority of his career with the Agricultural Research Service in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
