This accession consists of the records of Bernard S. Finn, Curator Emeritus of electricity collections, documenting exhibition planning, development, and production at the National Museum of American History, Division of Information Technology and Society. Earlier records date from when Finn was in the Division of Electricity and Modern Physics; the National Museum of History and Technology, Division of Electricity and Nuclear Energy; and when he worked on exhibitions at the Arts and Industries Building. Primarily documented are the following exhibitions: "1876: A Centennial Exhibition"; "Microelectronics"; "A New Look at Methods of Energy Conservation"; "Edison After Forty"; "Museums at the Smithsonian: 150 Years of Collecting"; "Edison and the Electrical Age: 100 Years"; and "Nation of Nations." Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes; exhibition proposals; planning and design information; scripts; budget summaries; reports; meeting agendas and minutes; exhibition committee and seminar information; news releases; information about the Hall of Electricity and the Hall of American Science; photographs; floor plans; brochures; and supporting documentation.
