Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of records which document the research, development, fundraising, publicity, production, and execution of exhibitions at the Smithsonian American Art Museum (SAAM), previously known as the National Museum of American Art, 1980-2000, as well as exhibitions displayed in the Renwick Gallery. These materials were primarily created by Chief Curator Eleanor Jones Harvey, with a smaller portion created by Exhibitions Coordinator Marie Elena Amatangelo and Postdoctoral Fellow Elaine Yau.

Materials include correspondence and memoranda; meeting agendas and notes; exhibition proposals; staff resumes; floor plans and architectural drawings; lectures and presentations; reports; grant proposals; budget files; checklists and objects lists; loan agreements; strategic plans; clippings; press releases; and other related materials. Some materials are in electronic format.
