This accession consists of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum's Twitter account as it existed on January 5, 2015, less than a month after the museum's post-renovation reopening on December 12, 2014. Twitter is a microblog used by the museum to promote its activities including the reinstallation of the collections and events related to the grand reopening. In addition, this accession includes tweets from the public and other organizations that used the hashtag "#newcooperhewitt" which was promoted by the museum. These tweets were captured using a crawler on January 9, 2015. Tweets with this hashtag dating from December 8, 2014, through February 2, 2015, were also exported into a spreadsheet. Due to technical issues, some images are missing from this accession. Materials are in electronic format.
