Summary

Father Johann Georg Hagen, S.J. (1847-1930) was Professor of Astronomy and Director of the Observatory at Georgetown University for 26 years. In 1906, he moved to Rome, at the request of Pope Pius X, to become director of the Vatican Observatory (Specola vaticana).
