Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of records documenting the search for directors of both the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (HMSG) and the National Museum of African Art (NMAfA). A small amount of material also documents administrative issues at HMSG. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, proposals, position descriptions, reports, press releases, notes, and background information about the museums and previous searches for directors. Some materials were created within the Office of the Under Secretary for Art (2004-2008) and other predecessor units.
