This accession consists of two websites and a blog maintained by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service. The "Museum on Main Street" website, crawled December 23, 2015, promotes a program of the same name which helps bring the Smithsonian Institution to small towns across America. The website includes information about traveling exhibitions as well as educational resources and docent handbooks for each exhibition. The website also includes guides for creating oral histories and exhibitions. The "Stories from Main Street" website, crawled on December 23, 2015, allows the public to submit stories about their own experiences with life in America's small towns and communities. It includes information about the project and educational resources. This accession does not include submitted stories. The "Stories from Main Street" blog, crawled on April 11, 2016, promotes the website of the same name. The blog launched in July 2014. Due to technical issues, some features in this accession do not function as expected. Materials are in electronic format.
