This accession consists of two websites and a blog maintained by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES). The primary SITES website, crawled December 21, 2015, provides information on hosting and supporting traveling exhibitions developed by the Smithsonian Institution. It also includes press releases, the biannual "Update" catalog, general information about SITES, and, for each exhibition, a description, specifications, travel schedule, and related promotional materials, publications, and other resources. The SITES blog, also crawled December 21, 2015, discusses the theme and contents of its traveling exhibitions. The blog launched in July 2007. The "Animal Connections: Our Journey Together" website was crawled on December 18, 2015. The website includes information from and about the traveling truck exhibition of the same name. The website has been inactive since the exhibition tour ended in November 2014. This accession only includes portions of the website that are available without login. Due to technical issues, some images and videos are missing. Some videos were crawled separately on December 23, 2015. Materials are in electronic format.
