Summary

left to right: U.S. astronaut Virgil Ivan Grissom (1926-1967) and R. Bowling Barnes, President of Barnes Engineering Company. Grissom was visiting the firm, which was producing infrared stabilization devices for the NASA Project Mercury spacecraft. Later that year, Grissom piloted "Liberty Bell 7" on the second Project Mercury flight (July 21, 1961).
