Summary

left to right: biochemist Arthur Lejwa (1895-1972), head of the Robert Gould Research Foundation, and Robert Gould (seated), who established the medical foundation. Lejwa conducted some of the early research on sex hormones and, with his wife Madeleine Chalette Lejwa, founded a prominent Manhattan art gallery during the 1950s.
