This accession consists of the papers of marine ecologist Richard W. Osman. These materials consists of field notes compiled by Dr. Osman during his extensive research on benthos and benthic zones. A significant portion of the materials was created while working on the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Coastal Ocean Program and documents the study of benthic invertebrates that were used in mesocosm experiments. Other field notes in the collection pertain to experiments conducted alongside Robert B. Whitlatch of the University of Connecticut. Materials include field notes, data files, and other related materials. Some materials are in electronic format.
