Summary

Consists of records documenting the administration of the Office of the Under Secretary for Museums, Education, and Research/Provost as well as the administration of the Smithsonian Institution in general. This office was created in February 2016 and was originally known as the Office of the Under Secretary for Museums and Research/Provost. It was created when the Office of the Under Secretary for Science, the Office of the Under Secretary for History, Art, and Culture, the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary for Collections and Interdisciplinary Support, and the Grand Challenges Consortia were combined. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, meeting minutes, notes, clippings, reports, planning documents, statistics, budget documents, and related materials. Some materials are in electronic format.
