Descriptive Entry

This accession consists of records documenting the planning and development of exhibitions at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. The majority of the files were created by Kristen Hileman, Assistant Curator, 2003-2007, and Associate Curator, 2007-2009, and Evelyn Carol Hankins, Associate Curator and Curator, 2008- , with smaller amounts of materials created by Olga M. Viso, Associate Curator, 1998-2000, and Curator of Contemporary Art, 2000-2003, and Anne Ellegood, Associate Curator and Curator of Contemporary Art, 2005-2009, as well as other curatorial staff. The department has frequently undergone name changes that have included the Curatorial Department, the Programs Department, and the Department of Public Programs/Curatorial Division. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, proposals, object lists, checklists, floor plans, budgets, brochures, background materials, clippings, photographs, notes, meetings materials, and related materials. Materials also include general memoranda and correspondence that is not necessarily related to exhibitions. Some materials are in electronic format.
