Summary

"Mexican Stamps Designed by American Lance Wyman" special exhibition opening event at National Museum of History and Technology (NMHT), now known as the National Museum of American History. Prepared by the Mexican postal administration, this exhibition honors American Lance Wyman, whose designs have been used for at least 50 Mexican postage stamps. Sponsored by Jose Juan de Olloqui, ambassador to the United States from Mexico, and Secretary of Communications and Transportation of Mexico. With Daniel J. Boorstin, NMHT director. ; Presentation of service award to Tilghman A. Hawkins, file clerk in the Office of the Registrar, for forty years of service at Smithsonian Institution. With wife Rosa Hawkins, former Secretary Alexander Wetmore, and Waldo L. Schmitt, honorary research associate in the Division of Marine Invertebrates.
