Summary

Dorothy Briggs, museum specialist at the National Museum of History and Technology, now known as the National Museum of American History, restores a Staffordshire pearlware bowl, c. 1790, excavated from a privy at the rear of Arrel's Tavern in Old Town Alexandria by Richard J. Muzzrole, museum technician in the Division of Cultural History.
