Summary

• Behind the scenes displays and demonstrations of exhibits production activities for the Smithsonian Associates at Museum of History and Technology, now known as the National Museum of American History.
• From 1966 Smithsonian Year: Silk screen artists showed how they produce exhibit labels and graphics. Model-makers displayed their intricate wares in cutaway form, showing the delicate mechanisms which go into the production of a "working" exhibit. A large group of freeze-dry specimens, the freeze-dry process that is rapidly replacing conventional taxidermy methods at the Smithsonian, and a wide variety of other exhibits-making techniques were demonstrated.
