Smithsonian Institution. Asian Pacific American Center
Website Records, 2009-2015
This accession consists of one section of a website and one blog maintained by the Asian Pacific American Center (APAC).
The Asian Pacific American Heritage Month section of the primary APAC website was crawled on May 13, 2015. This section features a series of challenges throughout the month of May intended to create awareness of Asian Pacific American culture, art, and history by encouraging the use of the hashtag "#APAEverywhere" across social media platforms. Users can create an account with the website and earn passport stamps. This section of the website also includes educational resources. Due to technical issues, textual information may be incomplete in this accession. Password-protected data was not crawled.
"Indian American Story: Blog for the Smithsonian Indian American Heritage Project," crawled June 2, 2015, chronicles the latest Indian American issues and happenings at the Smithsonian Indian American Heritage Project and at the APAC. The blog was opened in July 2009 and was originally titled "HomeSpun Blog - The Indian American Story." It has not been updated since December 2013. Due to technical issues, some images are missing from this accession.
