This accession consists of materials found in the systematic files of Alexander Wetmore, ornithologist at the National Museum of Natural History, Division of Birds, and Assistant Secretary in charge of the United States National Museum (1925-1945) and Secretary (1945-1952) of the Smithsonian Institution. Materials include correspondence, postcards, notes, data, manuscripts, news clippings, pamphlets, maps, scientific illustrations, plates, photographs, negatives, slides, a printing block, and a sample of leather.
