In the Vertebrate Paleontology Laboratory in the United States National Museum, now known as the National Museum of Natural History, Chief Preparator Norman Boss is repairing a turtle carapace, the holotype of Aspideretoides robustus (USNM 8538). On the table next to him are skulls of the dinosaurs Edmontosaurus regalis (USNM 12711) and Prosaurolophus maximus (USNM 12712). On the rear wall is a cast of a Rhomaleosaurus, a short-necked plesiosaur.
