D[[superscript]] r [[/superscript]] Sir
I have made arrangements to commence immediately filling up the foot way, on the south side of Pennsylvania avenue, in front of the Botanic Garden. The enclosure of the garden is placed in the foot way, and it is indispensable that it be removed to the line of the street previous to the filling up. Permit me to request of you the favor to procure an early order for this purpose.
Very respectfully I remain
Sir
your most obedient Svt
J. Elgar Com.
