Dear Sir,
You will receive, herewith, fifty printed copies of the Anniversary Discourse - delivered by me on the 7[[superscript]] h [[/superscript]]. instant, which I pray you to present to the Institute, with a request that it will be pleased to accept them in lieu of the "copy for publication", which was asked of me by its flattering Resolution of the 7[[superscript]] h [[/superscript]]. - For the kind and courteous terms in which you conveyed to me the request of the Institution, I beg you to accept my candid acknowledgements, and to believe that I am, with very sincere respect and regard
