Sir,
Agreeably to your request, I have obtained from Dr. Hunter a transcript of the proceedings of the last meeting of the Columbian Institute, from which [[faint comma?]] I copy the following for your information.
"that a special meeting of the Institute be convened at 6 PM. on the second saturday of January next."
On a motion, "that the President of the Institute be requested to prepare and deliver on that day a discourse explanatory of the object's of this association," being carried, it was resolved "that the General Committee of the Institute be authorized to invite gentlemen, who are not members thereof, to be present at its special meeting on the 2d Saturday in Jany. next, during the whole or such portion of its proceedings as the said Committee may deem proper."
Should I not
be able to meet the General Committee, I will thank you to state that I am prepared to deliver an address agreeably to the resolve of the Institute.
