I have to acknowledge the receipt of your polite note of Saturday last, by which you inform me, that the Columbia Institute has done me the honor, at it's stated meeting on the 6th inst -- to elect me one of the resident members. For your prompt attention in communicating this intelligence, and the transmission of a copy of the Constitution of the Society, be pleased Sir, to accept of my sincere thanks -- with sentiments of high esteem I am your most obedient
