Descriptive Entry
This accession consists of records documenting the activities of the Office of the Under Secretary for History, Art, and Culture (OUSHAC). Prior to April 14, 2008, the functions of OUSHAC were carried out by the Office of the Under Secretary for History and Culture and the Office of the Under Secretary for Art. The majority of records were created by Richard Kurin, Under Secretary for History, Art, and Culture, 2009- ; Acting Under Secretary for History, Art, and Culture, 2008-2009; Acting Under Secretary for History and Culture, 2007-2008; and Acting Director for National Programs, 2004-2007. Earlier records were inherited from his predecessors in similar positions. Topics documented include administration, governance, planning, special programs, major exhibitions, and external affairs. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, reports, agreements, budget materials, policies, planning documents, and related materials.
