Summary

This collection contains two field books by Robert Ridgway, originally maintained by the Division of Birds. These field books consist of a notebook from 1864 and a field catalog from 1908, both documenting Ridgway's work with birds. Field numbers are present in the catalog, and the notebook contains various observations on habits and behavior, as well as a number of sketches. Localities documented include but may not be limited to the United States and Costa Rica.
