This accession consists of the blog, "Magnetic North: Arctic Studies at the Smithsonian," as it existed on June 18, 2012. The blog is maintained by the Arctic Studies Center. Its purpose is to inform the public about research in the Arctic and Subarctic, with a focus on issues affecting circumpolar communities, both past and present, and the ecosystems they inhabit, and includes archaeological, anthropological, ecological, and climatological research. The first post was in March 2011. Materials are in electronic format.
