This accession consists of the Smithsonian Institution Libraries (SIL) website and blog as they existed in March 2012. The SIL website was crawled in three pieces on March 7, 9, and 15, 2012. It includes information about branch libraries, events, projects, donations, staff, physical exhibitions created by SIL, and online exhibitions created by other libraries and archives. In addition, the website includes online exhibitions created by SIL and the "e-Connect Newsletter." Collections information and digitized collections were not included in this crawl. The website was replaced several months after this crawl, though some online exhibitions continued to reside at the same URL. The SIL blog was crawled on March 15, 2012. It features collection items and projects. The first post was in December 2007 and the last post was on February 24, 2012. In early March, the blog was moved. Older content was transferred to the new blog, but also maintained in the original blog. Only the original blog is included in this accession. Materials are in electronic format.
