Summary

This collection contains two folders of field notes and one folder of correspondence created by Beecher S. Bowdish, originally maintained by the National Museum of Natural History, Division of Birds. The field notes cover a period of collecting in Puerto Rico between 1899 and 1901. Field notes contain bird stomach contents, sex of bird, and notes on bird song. The correspondence in this collection is from 1900-1902, written by Bowdish to Charles W. Richmond. Correspondence contains additional notes on bird specimens Bowdish collected in Puerto Rico as he donated many of his specimens to the Smithsonian Institution.
