Summary

This collection contains three folders of field notes created by Robert E. Elbel, originally maintained by the National Museum of Natural History, Division of Birds. One folder of notes is missing. The remaining field notes document birds collected in Thailand from 1952-1955. Notes are mostly in Thai, except for scientific names and some dates. Some specimens from Laos are also recorded. Also included are two rolls of microfilm. One roll is likely a copy of the two folders of field notes. The other roll of film is possibly a copy of the missing notes. Elbel also collected mammals during this trip. See Accession 12-238 for information on mammal field notes from Elbel during this trip.
