Summary

This collection is comprised of one notebook containing Mark Alfred Carleton's field notes on botanical specimens collected or observed on American Indian territory and on United States territory, in Kansas and Oklahoma, from April 17, 1891-October 1, 1891. Dated entries include locality and specimen numbers in the beginning of the book with locality and scientific or common names for corresponding dates listed in the middle of the book. Localities include "Muskogee, Ind. Terr. (Creek Nation);" Wewoka (Seminole Nation); Vinita (Cherokee Nation); "Neutral Strip;" and other towns and counties on United States territory in Kansas and Oklahoma.
