Summary

Elaine Zworykin, the daughter of Vladimir K. Zworykin, vice-president and technical consultant to RCA Laboratories, shown with an electron microscope, which her father helped to develop. Elaine Zworykin was then a mineralogist with the U.S. Geological Survey in Washington, D.C., and had been assigned to RCA laboratories for training in how to use the microscope.
